URI Writing Program Hosts Write Out Event in North Woods as Part of National Day on Writing

The University of Rhode Island's professional and public writing department held its 8th annual National Day of Writing event in the North Woods. The two-day program welcomed over 600 URI students and 50 elementary schoolers to write poetry and explore the connections between language, nature, and climate change on the trails. The event was a collaboration between professors Stephanie West-Puckett and Madison Jones, who aimed to bring the National Writing Project's Write Out initiative to the local community.
