Melanie West, a teacher at Hubert Middle School and teacher-consultant with the Deep Center Writing Project, has been honored with the 2024 High School Teacher of Excellence Award by the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE) and the Georgia Council of Teachers of English (GCTE). She will be recognized at the NCTE Annual Convention in Boston for her exemplary teaching practices and contributions to the field.
