Connecticut Writing Project-Storrs Celebrates Student Achievements at 2025 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards

Eight creative writing students from EASTCONN’s Arts at the Capitol Theater (ACT) Magnet High School in Willimantic earned recognition at the 2025 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards. Presented by the Connecticut Writing Project-Storrs and the Alliance for Young Artists & Writers, the awards highlight the students' achievements. Baer Linderson's gold key-winning poem "Queer and Angry" will advance to national judging in New York City. All winning pieces were developed in creative writing courses taught by Kristina Dukette and Stacy Ann Vocasek, showcasing the value of the Connecticut Writing Project-Storrs in nurturing young writers.
