Summary: North Dakota Senator Kent Conrad emphasizes the importance of reading and writing—and the role the Northern Plains Writing Project plays in helping teachers teach writing more effectively.
North Dakota Senator Kent Conrad recently told North Dakota's KXMB News that if you learn to read and write well, you can do anything.
That's why he's such a strong supporter of the Northern Plains Writing Project. Said Conrad, "The writing project is all about encouraging our teachers to focus on writing so they can help their students do better, and that ought to be something we can all be united behind."
Robert Kibler, site director of the Northern Plains Writing Project, was also interviewed in the news segment. "The best way to improve teaching, writing, learning anywhere is to strengthen teachers and what teachers do," said Kibler.
