Elementary School Students Become Published Authors

Each third-, fourth,- and fifth-grader wrote a story and drew pictures with colored pencils or markers. The finished transcripts of the 450 children then were sent to a company, printed and bound into a hardcover book. . . .

Austyn LaClear, 10, of Belding was excited upon receiving his book.

"Whatever I do it inspires my little sister and brothers to do," he said. "My mom says if I write a book I can become an actual author. I want to become a children's book author and I bet my sister wants the same thing."
